James the Paper Boy | AMSW Photography

A couple weeks ago we got a letter in the mail from my nephew's school in Washington State. I opened it and, surprise! A paper cut-out of my nephew James was inside, along with a note from his teacher. The class had read the book Flat Stanley and they were all sending paper versions of themselves to family and friends. The paper boys and girls were to have adventures and report back to class in 2 weeks and tell their stories. What an awesome, creative assignment!

This is the photo story of James the Paper Boy. He played with his cousin Jake (my son) and took car rides in the country. He saw cattle, horses, and orange groves. He played cars with his cousin and watered the plants in the backyard. His favorite part of the trip was his visit to the San Diego Safari Park where he saw wild animals!

Hi Everybody! Here I am! We are at the San Diego Safari Park today, and I'm so excited! I'm with my Uncle Jerry, Aunt Alisha, and cousin Jake and we're going to see the Elephants and Giraffes, and maybe a lion. Aunt Alisha is a Photographer and she likes to take lots of pictures. Here's my adventure in pictures.

All ready to go...

Here we are at the Elephant exhibit

Oooh look a Mama and her baby!

Bye Elephant Family! We're going to visit the Giraffes now

A big, yellow, hot air balloon takes people up into the sky. I tried to hop on for a ride.

Here I am with Uncle Jerry and Cousin Jake in a canoe! It is a skinny little boat and we splashed water everywhere.

We took an elevator up to the top look out to see the big park. It was so pretty!

My Uncle held me very tight when I looked over the edge. We have to be careful when we are up so high.

I felt safe and happy to be held nice and tight.

We need to look at the map when we don't know which way to go. Hmmm should we go left, or right?

 Here's the map!

The day was very hot and lots of the animal were sleeping. We decided to walk to the monkeys. The monkeys were sleeping too, but the kids were playing!

This was the coolest thing ever. Kids were walking on logs right above our heads! They climbed like Monkeys in the trees!

One day when I'm big enough I want to try walking in the trees!

Ohhh, It's called the Lemur Walk!

These are really big white Pelican birds

Bye Safari Park! Time to head back to the house now. On our way home, we passed by Orange Groves. California has lots of oranges.

hehehe can you find me in the trees?

Hey you found me!
Bye everyone! I have a great trip but it's time for me to go back to Washington. Thanks for the visit! I had so much fun.

Thanks for visiting with us James! We were so happy to have you here and anytime the Human James wants to come visit he is welcome to stay with us. We still need to go to the beach!

With much love, Aunt Alisha, Uncle Jerry, and Jake.
